I am Donata Kalvaitė - the founder of the e-shop "Kalvaitė.lt" and the author of handmade amber jewellery. My husband Kęstutis Kalvaitis, his mother, grandparents and I represent three generations of amber masters who have been cherishing Baltic amber for 50 years.

From the early 1970s, when my grandparents started making metal seagulls carrying a piece of Baltic amber, to the present day, there have been nearly fifty years of creativity, development and new discoveries. During these long years, the unique history of amber and its untapped secrets have been continuously explored.

Amber is Lithuania's gold, radiating great warmth and positive energy, with thousands of different faces. Each piece of amber has a unique and distinctive character, so when it comes to amber jewellery, it often dictates its own rules and guides the jewellery designer in the right direction.

Amber is a special stone that should not be handled with any negative thoughts. It is like a mirror reflecting the energy and emotions of the artist. When we create the amber jewellery that we present in our shop, we try to make sure that the whole creative process is accompanied by warm and good thoughts, firmly believing that each of our handmade products will surely find its true owner.

When we create amber jewellery, we have always tried to show that it can be modern and very luxurious, while at the same time emphasising its priceless historical value - after all, the amber we are adorning can be as much as 50 million years old!

For a long time, our amber products were only available at exhibitions and galleries in Los Angeles, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Denmark. But we finally decided it was time to meet the new owners of our amber creations face to face. After all, you are the ones who make us create, work hard and delve deeper into the secrets of amber every day!
